Mike and Becky's Story

From Don & Family
Thanks for sharing your wonderful house on the hill in Nicaragua. Barb and I and our family had a wonderful time. Jimmy, Juan and Roberto were all very friendly and helpful. We actually were able to communicate with our limited Spanish and a lot of hand gestures. You have a great team there. We were quite impressed with your development.

EMail Subject - "Every thing is great" - I just wanted to thank you for providing a wonderful home filled with every convenience - we feel fortunate. Juan and Roberto are great! So helpful, we just love them. Just a thank you!

From Kathleen
Thank you so much for welcoming us into your piece of paradise. Every day got better and better. The monkeys just started hanging out around the house all the time, and the sun started shining for us a little more each day. It has been an incredible adventure for us in this otherwise dismal economy.

Juan and Roberto have taken such good care of us throughout our stay. We leave seeing them and their family as dear friends. They're such good people. They really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Thanks so much again. Nicaragua holds a dear place in our hearts!"

From Ryan
We had a great time - absolutely loved the solitude! We had great weather and we had a troop of monkeys visit for a day or two. I would love to come back with a few other couples and really make use of all that space. Please keep me up to date on your development as it progresses.

I came to Nicaragua for one week on a fact finding mission. Would it be a place that I liked enough to want to establish a home for retirement or at least come to when it snows in the northeast USA?

I came only with a tent, sleeping bag and a duffle bag full of baseballs and soccer equipment for the Nicaraguan children. My first stop was the beach of Majagual and it was love at first sight! I couldn't get over the beauty.

I camped there for three days and then upgraded to a $10 dollar a night hotel with AC in SJDS. I spent most of the days playing soccer on the beach. That is when I fell in love with the people........soccer can get rough and never once during the week did I see any nastiness. Later..... I found myself high-fiving people along the road that I had played soccer with the past few days!

I had narrowed down two developments I was interested in- if I liked Nicaragua. One was PDA. My first image was that the roads were cut and there was a house being built. In my mind the developer was committed. I thought about it for a few days and then drove up there at dusk with a few Victorias(cerveza) and hung out watching the sun set. When I heard the howler monkeys in the treetops it was a clincher!

I own lot A-8 and look forward to the day that I can build and get away from the Northeast winters! - Regards, Charlie Bensley
